How to Improve Muscle Elasticity

It’s not easy to get in shape. You have to eat right, exercise, sleep well and do so many other things. With so many different considerations, it is easy to lose focus on key areas. For most people there fitness goals fall into one three categories: lose weight, get toned, or add muscle mass. Regardless of your fitness aspirations, the key to training success is the elasticity of your muscles. If you can manage to improve muscle elasticity then you can be able to reach any of your workout targets. And it doesn’t take much work. Just follow these easy steps!

1) Dynamic Stretching

We are all used to the classic quad and hamstring stretches, but any trainer these days will tell you that no workout is complete with dynamic stretching. They just make sense. Think about it: how often do you hold your arm extended in one position? Dynamic stretching techniques allow you to target muscle groups and ligaments which in turn improve muscle elasticity. The same one you use whether you are working out or just lifting a bag of groceries out of the car.

2) Yoga

There is a reason why yoga is a craze right now. It’s because it works. Everyone from your 300 pound NFL Linebacker to your manager at work is doing it. It’s because it is one of the best ways to improve flexibility and range of motion. Maybe even if some that you weren’t even aware of! The best thing is that there are so many options available whether you are looking for a hardcore workout or something more tranquil, you can find the perfect fit for you.

3) Assisted Stretching

There’s only so much you can do alone! There’s a reason why we have people spot us on the bench press or you have a teammate on a project. Assisted stretching has been one of the hallmarks of both professional athletics and fitness trainers for decades. That’s because when you have someone else giving you hand then you can target areas that you wouldn’t be able to on your own or even with a stretch band or something like that. Stretch Station focuses on helping athletes achieve a better stretch. There are many assisted stretching benefits including relieving strain, helping you feel more relaxed, and improve muscle elasticity.

4) Ballistic Stretching

The name alone of this sounds fun. Ballistic stretching is dynamic stretching taken to a whole new level. It’s a series of exercises which focus on quick, intense spurts of movement and particularly effective for high-performance athletes. What it does is prepare your body for specific types of movements. For example, you do certain rapid-fire jumps so you can get more air in your basketball game! A full body dynamic stretch warm-up will get you ready for any warm up. This will definitely improve muscle elasticity.

5) Mix it Up

Your body is smart. It gets used to things easily so that if you keep falling into the same workout regimens and even stretch patterns than your muscle elasticity is going to plateau. For this reason, you need to ensure you do a wide variety of workouts for weightlifting to running to swimming and different types of stretching exercises. Create a weekly schedule and mix it up. It will also make your workout more regimen more fun as well!

Improve Muscle Elasticity

There’s no exact science to be able to perfectly improve muscle elasticity. But if you mix some of these helpful suggestions into your regimen, you’ll be sure to achieve that greater flexibility you are looking for so you can hit your workout target and look your best!
